SCHOOL REMINDERS

Starting Time: Do not drop your child off before 8:00 AM, as there is no supervision provided.

All students will line up and enter the building at 8:15 AM.  For middle school students, the doors by
the art room will open at 8:10. Middle School Students only are permitted in at this time to go to their
lockers. Students are required to remain in the hallways (where supervision will be provided) until
8:15. It is our hope this will assist in students arriving to their homerooms on time. Any student who is
not in their homeroom by 8:20 AM must go to the office and sign in.

** Tardiness will affect perfect attendance. See tardiness process.

Absences: If your child is going to be out of school, remember to notify the school. You can call the
24-hour absent line and leave a message on voicemail. If your child is absent 3 or more consecutive
days, a doctor’s note is required on their return. When your child returns to school a note for being
absent is required. Report an absence: 610-521-4450, ext. 3222.

All telephone calls made through the Global Connect System will use the information that is provided
to us on the School Emergency Telephone Information form. If you change your telephone number at
any time during the school year and need to have the Global Connect System call a different contact
number please send in the updated information and return it immediately.

SCHOOL EMERGENCY TELEPHONE NUMBER CHANGES

If you have made any changes to your home, cell, or work numbers, write the following information
down and send it in to your child’s homeroom teacher or to the school office.   When our information
is updated, it helps us to contact you in a timely manner in case of an emergency.

  1. Student’s Name
  2. Parent/Guardian’s Name

  3. Teacher’s Name & Grade

  4. Home Phone
  5. Cell Phone
and Name of Parent/Guardian
  6. Cell Phone and Name of Parent/Guardian
  7. Work Phone and Name of Parent/Guardian

  8. Work Phone and Name of Parent/Guardian

The above corrected phone numbers will be shared with the nurse’s office and changed in the
school’s communication system for parent/guardian contact.

Riding bikes/scooters/skateboards/”heelys”:  If your child is riding their bike to school make
sure they bring a lock to protect their bike.   No first or second grader is permitted to ride a bike to
school. Students may not ride scooters, skateboards, bikes, or ”heelys” on school property. Please
be sure your child is aware of this.

Conferences: If you need to see your child’s teacher, please make an appointment. Parent
conferences must take place after 3:00 PM (unless prior arrangement has been made) since most
of our teachers have duties directly after school. Be sure to communicate with your child’s teacher
  as needed.

Homework: Homework is given Monday through Thursday. If your child states there is no
homework, check their agenda books or contact the teacher personally.

Cell phones: Students are not permitted to use a cell phone on school property. If your child
needs   a cell phone for before/after school use, please remind them to keep their phone turned off
and in their backpacks/lockers from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily. The school is not responsible for
lost/missing cell phones. Any cell phone that is confiscated will require a parent to come into school
to pick it up along with any disciplinary procedures to the student. A parent may not simply call the
school and ask for the phone to be returned to the student.

Agenda Book Information:  Please check your child's agenda book daily to keep up on their
  academic and behavioral progress.

Notes from the Nurse:
The Interboro School District recognized parents have the primary responsibility for the
health of their children.  Although the district strongly recommends that medication be
given in the home, it realizes that the health of some children require they receive
    medication during school hours.

Parents should confer with the child's physician to arrange medication time intervals to
avoid school hours whenever possible.  When medication absolutely must bne given
during school hours certain procedures must be followed.

Parents should confer with the child's physician to arrange medication time intervals to
avoid school hours whenever possible.  When medication absolutely must bne given
during school hours certain procedures must be followed.

It has been brought to my attention that the school handbook is not clearly written, so
please be aware that ALL MEDICATION administered during school hours require a
physician's order and parent permission.  Cough drops contain over the counter medicine
and are a choking hazard.  They may not be used in school without a physicians order.

Please follow the medication administration guidelines in the school handbook.  If you have
any questions, please contact the school nurse.

***If your child had medication in the nurse's office last year and you did not take the
medication home, you MUST HAVE A NEW PRESCRIPTION from your physician for the
nurse to administer the medication this year.
